challenging myself

It's only Monday and this week has already been so productive. For starters, I deep cleaned my carpets. That right there should eliminate any other chores from my "to do" list for the week. We've been in our apartment for 2.5 years, cleaned them at around the 1 year mark and then for the second time today. They were getting so gross, I was even feeling ashamed when inviting friends over. It was really time, they look and feel sooo great now!

Apart from having spotless carpet, today I started the whole30 challenge! Have you guys heard about it? I've been following some friends whole30 journeys on instagram and after about a week of contemplating I finally gained enough motivation to go for it! You can read about the challenge HERE. My first day of meals when like this.

Breakfast - 2 eggs cooked over medium
Snack - 1 cup blueberries
Linner (lunch+dinner) - Lemon/pepper baked salmon, 1 avocado, 1 yam
Dessert - Fruit Vitamix juice (apple, strawberries, blueberries, lemon)
So far it's not bad, but it's also the first day. I'm sure 4 days from now I will be dreaming of grilled cheese and bean burritos. I'm sorry if my blog is heavy on the whole30 posts over the next month, I feel like blogging my progress will keep me going!

  1. Kelley, this is awesome! Looks like you are on the right track! This is how I have been eating since college and I absolutely love the way I feel and look! Keep it up, girl! P.S. You should add some greens to that vitamix. My favorite is spinach because it is "sweeter" than other greens!
