The love & stress of friendsgiving

In the off season I tend to want to throw parties all the time. I really love planning and it's the perfect way for me to fill my time. I also tend to forget to tell Paul about these parties so when we went out for drinks a couple days ago and our friends asked what side dish they could bring to Friendsgiving, Paul was a little confused, haha. I don't mean to not inform him, I genuinely just forget!

So Friendsgiving year 2 is this Saturday! Paul and I are hosting and as hosts we took on the role of tackling the turkey, stuffing and gravy...and mashed potatoes, those didn't get claimed in the list of sides friends could bring, and what's a Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes? Last year Friendsgiving was very impromptu, us and 2 friends were desperately craving a home cooked Thanksgiving meal mid-October so we went for it and the 4 of us gathered for an October Thanksgiving! This year our Friendsgiving has doubled, we are expecting 10 friends who are all from different parts of life so I'm kind of stressing out and hoping that the meshing of friends goes okay. Please tell me I'm not the only one who stresses over these things! I would seriously love any tips you have for me. The food and drinks will be flowing so I guess there's that going for me? JK.

Last night I went to Target and bought all the necessities as far as plates, utensils, napkins and man Target has basically said, "Thanksgiving what? It's time for Christmas people!" I could not find Thanksgiving themed anything! Still had a blast mingling in the Christmas aisles though. Soo here goes nothing! We'll have the full traditional Thanksgiving meal along with wine, some champagne, and cranberry spritzers. We definitely don't have a table large enough for everything so we've decided on buffet style serving and casual dining in our living room. But if we did have a large table I would have loved to create something like this! It's too cool.

Wish us luck!!
P.S. I'm finally caving next week and sharing our big news! *not pregnant*

  1. I love Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving.. but stress definitely comes along with it! I don't know how people do it -- organizing the cooking and getting everything done at the same time!

    1. Haha, ya I'm beginning to question our judgement on this...we're waking up at 6:00am to begin defrosting the turkey!

    1. Yes! It's so hard to get all our friends together without a little bit of stress of the dynamic of the groups meshing! Overall, it always works out.
