A special birthday surprise!

Paul and I are not huge birthday celebrators. I kind of secretly wish we were THAT couple sometimes who fully supported celebrating the birthday week and for some...the birthday month. Not really us, but hey, if you can celebrate it right, go for it! Paul is just a super low key guy, absolutely hates attention and usually chooses something very intimate when his birthday rolls around. Or, in the case this year, leaving the state on vacation during your b-day so that no one can know about it. I'm kind of the same, although I consider myself an extrovert and just love being around people, I can't remember the last time I had a big party or even created a list of gifts that I could possibly want.

Well...the past couple months (out of nowhere) I began falling in love with the idea of owning a designer bag. I'm a total cheap-o, love a good sale, a successful day at TJ-maxx, or even a great thrift store. I also don't take good care of my things so owning a nice bag was never in my favor. Well recently, one of my friends got a Marc Jacobs and I fell in love. Anytime we were near a Nordstrom I would subtly make my way to the handbag department to get a glimpse of this M.J. But the price, it killed me, and although I worked an extra wedding for some friends to pay for the bag myself...I couldn't bite the bullet. Well..everything changed Sunday afternoon when I came home and there was a wrapped gift sitting on the dining room table. My birthday wasn't for 5 more days, so I was super surprised. Paul was insistent that I open it immediately.
It was the handbag I had secretly loved from a far, yet never would be able to purchase for myself. Paul even bought the exact color I had wanted! That guy, he know me. It was probably one of the most generous and special birthday gifts I can remember. Thanks Paul! I owe you one for sure.
