Be Thankful

Our fireplace is officially fall. I searched the internet high and low for a printable DIY banner that I felt fit the space. Once I finally came across one...my printer decided to die. It was major drama. So I moved into plan B and bought this one at Cost Plus World Market. Not bad for $7.99 complete with all letters and leaves! If you love it too you can find it HERE.
A day after putting this up I was already searching for Christmas banners at Target ;-)

P.S. Cheese board part II is still coming...I figured it would be fun to photograph a cheese board of my own to show! We're having friends over for a game night next week so I'll prepare one for everyone and share soon!

Welcoming Autumn

Yay for Autumn, probably my favorite season of all. This is the first year that I have actually taken the time to decorate our home! I think what really inspired me is that we now have a fireplace :) Total game changer. I haven't gone overboard or anything but here is what's happening with our mantel.
I really enjoy natural looking decorations and ones that compliment the style of your home. To keep things subtle I purchased these yellow/gold leave branches from Michaels (50% off right now). I got 4 and layered them over each other. I also got a small bundle of natural wheat grass and weaved them into the leaves.
These 3 white ceramic pumpkins I found at Home Goods. They have LED lights inside so at night or when we have company over I turn them on to light up our mantle piece a bit! I'm on the hunt for a printable DIY fall banner to hang compliment it all so I will post another pic once I find one.

Along with pumpkin spice candles, candy jars and mini pumpkins here and there throughout our home; we also have a couple framed chalkboards in our living room and I ventured into chalkboard art a couple nights ago. Our chalkboards have been great because we can decorate them according to the current season….aother way we decorate according to the current style of our home :) Here's how I have 1 decorated for Autumn!

Fall ideas!

In all honesty, we aren't big Halloween decorators. Christmas? Well that is a whole new world. For us, a good fall candle does the trick. This lack of halloween spirit can't stop me on Pinterest though! Instead of messy pumpkin carving, I think pumpkin painting will be our new thing! If you have any other fun pumpkin ideas, please share :) Paul and I are thinking of hosting a P.P.P. (pumpkin painting party) for some friends. Prizes to the best pumpkin painter!

Chevron, stencil, spray paint, chalkboard your pumpkin!
