new memories.

So. We may have found our new home! We checked it out today, 2 bedroom, 2 bath. It.has.a.fireplace. When the woman told us that before showing it to us, I almost jumped out of my seat and said, "Dear kind rental apartment show-er lady, say no more. We want it." I adore fireplaces. There is something so cozy about them. I think it comes from our fireplace we had my home growing up. It was old fashion and cute and made the whole house cozy. When I was younger after I had gotten out of the shower I used to wrap myself up in my towel and make my way out to the fireplace to warm up before bed. Plus, it has a little shelf above it to display things like picture frames, seasonal decor, and ommggg CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS!!!

**Side note** Paul and I hit up Ikea today, which is like our hubb. Seriously all our furniture is from Ikea. I don't know how..I think the early 20's newlywed/college students/at the time Red Robin server/Babysitter income will do that to you. But they had Christmas stockings..and long story short. Paul banned me from shopping for any Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving. He has a valid point, but he can't keep me from my pandora Christmas music channel. **end side note**

So besides the fireplace..we really liked it. We are heading back tomorrow to make our final decision. It's kind of hard to make your final say when you've looked at the place for 5 mins and the "kind rental show-er lady" is all up in your grill the whole time. We will see!! I'm so excited, but this afternoon as I thought about it more, I am so sad to leave out first home together. Paul and I have so many memories in our current apartment.

That one time when we had been married less than a month we both got super sick and couldn't sleep so we stayed up and made chocolate chip cookies together.

The time when each time we'd book a wedding last year we would jump up and down smiling ear to ear. 1. you're probably thinking how lame we were, and we are :) 2. I'm sure our neighbors below us loved that.

Our first Christmas together.

Spending hours and hours building IKEA furniture together.

Our many "first year of marriage" fights <-- yes they are memories, I look back at them and laugh.

Those times when we were really into chocolate fondu, delicious, and probably the result of the 5 pounds I've gained since our wedding.

The only time I don't get sad about leaving is when our neighbors are obnoxious. So for the sake of me not having an emotional breakdown when and if we leave in the next few weeks, lets just hope they get horribly drunk and sing songs (like they always do) every night so it makes this process a little easier for us. Fingers crossed!!

dreaming of offices

Nope, I still havn't given up. I've been dreaming again of having a room completely designated as a small office, and maybe a little guest room for friends :) Especially in these weeks when I am editing for hours straight. Oh, how I would love my little work space. Pinterest is giving me some inspiration for this future endeavor..

Right now all I'm thinking is PAINT!

yellows..

Baby blues..

Greys..oh my!

any of these colors will do just fine.

The new pad search continues...I am so frustrated with how expensive Orange County is. It's weird to think I've called this county my home for 4 years now so I really shouldn't be that surprised at the overall cost of living here. But knowing that we will continue to live in this area for a couple more years, I become more and more anxious to find a new place to call home. Maybe I can talk Paul into searching with me tomorrow?

On a side note, with wedding season slowing down next month, I'm totally committed to finding my inner Martha again. Not like she was ever there to begin with. I'm beginning to re-search some DIY projects to do during my down time :) This website has been my haven http://www.diyideas.com/

falling into fall.

This takes the prize for the worst, best title I have ever come up with. Hey it's been a long day..you know how much energy watching Teen Mom takes out of you? Paul and I live the amish life with no television, I mean we have a TV but no cable, satellite, nothing. We watch movies and watch whatever full length episodes we can find streaming the internet. Rough life, I know. But really, Teen Mom..so into it right now. Judge away my friends, I can only hope my life never becomes that white trash..although today I purchased frozen tater tots and the more I see them sitting there in my freezer the more white trash I feel. It happens to the best of us, tater tots seemed like a good idea while I was grocery shopping in Target while starving today.

Earlier this week, I wrote about some potential good news. Well..it was regarding a condo that we had looked at a couple weeks ago. After falling in love with it and penciling down some numbers we realized it was a little beyond our means with where we are at right now with wedding season beginning to wind down next month. A few days later we received a call from the owner offering to lower the rent..hoping we could still make it work we threw out a number, it was too low which was completely understandable. It just wasn't meant to be, the hunt continues!! Dear office, someday I will have you. Until then, corner in our living room, you will have to do.

Today I decorated for the fall season.

Ok, before you think I'm totally lame. I ALSO bought a new Pumpkin Spice candle. How you like them apples?! Fall decor complete.

Work week.

After our back to back wedding extravaganza..I was never so thrilled to see Monday come along :) Monday - Wednesday is technically my weekend, but not. It's still a busy month for the 618ers. And since Paul is well into his fall semester he is laying off the editing part of work right now and mainly focusing on homework. Yuck. I'm so happy to never have homework again, {insert post grad victory dance here}!!

Backtracking a little...I'm totally keeping up with my daily to do list. I can almost jog around the block without walking, hey let's just say it's been awhile and it's a large block. On Thursday I even curled and styled my hair, only to have Paul come home from class, walk in the door, sniff and say, "Hair spray? What's the occasion?" Told ya.

We may have some exciting news to share tomorrow! I don't want to jinx it though..and let me give you a hint. No one's pregnant. So let's just get that right out there. But Paul legitimately thought so when I was texting him things today like, "I have crazy news." and "You are going to freak!" He basically came home asking if I was with child. Oops.

Here are some images I iPhone snapped at Saturday's wedding! Maybe some inspiration to future brides out there?

Pin wheel arch, succulent backdrop, front row couches. Perfect.

Bride HANDMADE these!!

Bowtie escort cards..so envious of her DIY details.

Success!

So I think I've found the source to achieving everything on my daily to do list. RUNNING. By just going for a run I can easily check off 2 other "to do's" 1. It gets me outside, 2. I am forced to shower afterwards..Woalaa! Check list check::
- Get outside.
- Go for a run.
- Buy more stamps.
- Do overwhelming pile of dishes in the sink.
- Get out a running shorts and t-shirt at some point. ..this didn't happen. After my shower I proceeded to putting on another pair of running shorts and a clean t-shirt (sigh).
- Take a shower.   Hoping to finish 2 of 3 august weddings this week, take that procrastination!
- Edit, edit, edit.
- Fold laundry.
- Make dinner.   This one was partial..I had texted Paul asking if he would be hungry for dinner, he said he would just heat some left overs up when he got home. Hey, my heart was in it, right?

:::Side story:::

Paul learned to sew last night.

It was hilarious. He watched his informational DVD and all.

Goals of the day.

Current to do list (aka goals for the day).

- Get outside.
- Go for a run.
- Buy more stamps.
- Do overwhelming pile of dishes in the sink.
- Get out a running shorts and t-shirt at some point.
- Take a shower.
- Edit, edit, edit.
- Fold laundry.
- Make dinner.

Notice that "get outside" is the first on my list is goals for the day. Yes, still struggling with that one. I've learned in the past 3 months that working from home presents a whole new set of challenges. Where most 9-5er's would stress about their daily commute to/from work and other various things, I have to remind myself to shower and get out of gym clothes and look somewhat presentable when Paul gets home from school. Ok wait, that sounded so 1950's. But seriously, when your husband has a surprised look on his face when you actually take the time to blow dry and style your hair for the first time in 2 weeks, somethings gotta give. Here's to daily goals and trying to achieve them. Maybe I'll blog tomorrow about how successful I was.

Not so much moving on.

Well... the move isn't happening quite yet :( and I was SO darn ready to move and all!! Away from "smoker's corner" and "the squirrel lady" <-- see recent Facebook status. Basically we are super bummed, me maybe more than Paul since I'm the one working from home a majority of the week.

We had looked at 3 condo's last weekend. One in Huntington (which was more in the ghetto part of huntington) it was complete with a backyard of a car dealership surrounded by barbed wire and all!  One in Irvine, which at first we loved and then decided we didn't love it as much as we began to pick it a part with everything we didn't like about it. And Lastly one here in Costa Mesa...which was absolutely perfect and we fell in love with but couldn't afford so let's not talk about it. So basically we are still on the look out and continuing to save our pennies for the right place :) In the meantime I guess I must continue to endure squirrel lady and obtain second hand smoke (i'm being totally over dramatic right now, whatevs).

In addition to working hard from home I'm really into stalking our future brides boards on Pinterest. I feel like I get a first hand experience with the wedding planning. So far, so good. To all our 2012 brides possibly reading this, now you know. Pin away!

Moving on.

Well, things are getting serious. Paul and I officially began searching for a new place to call home this past week. With the amount of stuff from wedding gifts, to the recent equipment purchases, to just the fact that we are Americans and have 10x more "stuff" than we need, our home is starting to feel smaller by the day! Tomorrow we are checking out 2 potential places, both 2 bedroom condos, 1 in Irvine, 1 in Costa Mesa. We are so excited for this new venture, but it's scary having to sit down and re-budget the night away. Our current home has allowed us to live comfortably for the first year of marriage which has been undoubtedly a huge blessing. Knowing that things are going to be a little tight to accommodate for this bigger place definitely puts us out of our comfort zone. So the hunt begins!! Update soon.

P.S. nothing says "I'm sorry" like a bouquet of Trader Joes flowers. These came home with Paul this evening. I had to forgive him.
